Brief explore up the Arahuri Valley at sunset and dusk at Lindis Pass.
Went for an Aurora (which never turned up), stayed for the moonlight and clear skies. Capturing a moonshine rainbow on the spray from the dam spill was a bonus. Just one other element of magic on a glorious night.

Windy walk on the Rough Ridge from the Golden Progress mines with the Clyde Offroad Walkers. Oldest walker today was 91. Distance covered about 11km (reduced because of high winds). Video
Glorious night for Milky Way shots up at this old abandoned hut in the hills.
Perfect night for an astro shoot up Puketapu overlooking Palmerston, Otago. It was windy and sub-zero but crystal clear. Was really glad I took the borrowed torch, not just fr artistic effect, but also for the treacherous, steep, dark, freezing decent.
Spent a cold night up Duffers Saddle on Nevis Road trying to get my first full Milky Way arch over the Hector Range. Didn’t quite get the perspectives right, but still happy with the results.
